Dusty

Hi!  My name is Dusty, and I’ve got a little secret to share with you - I’m only 1 year old!!  I snuck in to Forever Loved senior dog rescue when they scooped me up from the pound with a broken jaw.  The pound thought I was 7, tee-hee, and I just let them put that on my papers so I could end up in a rescue that would give me all the medical care and love possible!  I am a Cairn Terrier mix and weigh 9 pounds.  My broken jaw has been set, and I’m going to need some TLC until April, but really, it’s nothing hard or difficult, so don’t let that stop you from meeting me.  I’m such a friendly happy dog!  I like kids, other dogs my size, and I’m well on my way at being house trained!  I’m good riding in the car, and even really enjoy riding in a golf cart!  I can walk on a leash, I’m playful, energetic, affectionate, and remember - I’m only 1 year old, so I do 1 year old dog things.  Although I do like to cuddle, I also like to zoom around and investigate everything with a nice confidence.  I’m so smart, I even figured out how to open a kennel door during the day while my foster mom was gone. I need wet food with the consistency of pate (no chunks or chewing) and I shouldn’t have treats or chew toys while my jaw heals.  You’d never know I had anything wrong because I’m so easy going and fun-loving.  It’s safe to say I am a favorite with everyone who meets me.  Apply to meet me, and we can have a lot of fun together!
